Our Coverage Options

How does insurance works:

The good news is Grandview Psychological Services probably accepts your insurance plan. We are partners with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Tufts, Fallon, United Behavioral Health, Harvard Pilgrim, Cigna, Teamsterscare, and more. If you’re curious as to what your insurance covers, just ask Grandview Psychological Services to perform the authorization for you – we’ll take care of it. If you’d like to obtain authorization yourself, check your coverage carefully for the following information:

  • What are my mental health benefits?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • How much is the co-payment required at the beginning of each appointment
  • How many therapy sessions does my plan cover?
  • How much does my insurance pay for an out-of-network provider?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

We accept both cash or check. As you’re probably aware, co-payments or self payments are expected at the beginning of the appointment.

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment or you have not notified us at least 24 hours in advance, you will be required to pay a late cancellation fee in the amount of $60. We know you understand.

Our rates are a reasonable $150 per session. In the case of “self-pay” we can discuss a reasonable plan with you privately.

Melrose Anti-Bullying Initiative

Grandview Psych is proud to be spearheading a new effort in the Greater Boston area to combat the profound effects of bullying on our youth. Bullying not only affects recipients – typically children and adolescents between the ages of 6 and 18 –  it also negatively impacts bullies themselves, the bullied, and the families of both.

Grandview Psych is working closely with ex-Melrose Public School Principal Jerry Carmody as part of a team of administrators, lawyers, martial arts instructors, and mental health professionals to formulate strategies for safe and effective bullying prevention. The goal is to yield a safer and more educated community in regards to the effects of bullying.

Melrose, a urban suburb north of Boston, will serve as ground zero for this initiative, a particularly poignant location given the recent bullying-prevention law passed by state legislators. Stay tuned to learn more about this exciting new development.
